PROVERBS 18:16 (PART3 )

PROVERBS 18:16 – (PART 3)

Pharaoh’s cup-bearer and baker (Genesis 40): While in prison Joseph interpreted some dreams of Pharaoh’s cup-bearer and baker. With God’s guidance, he explained that the cup-bearer would return to Pharaoh’s service, but the baker would be killed. Pharaoh (Genesis 41): Two years later, Pharaoh himself had a dream which Joseph interpreted. God’s purpose was to raise Joseph to second-in-command over Egypt and to save the Egyptians and the Israelite’s from a horrible famine.

Samuel (1 Samuel 3): Samuel had his first vision as a young boy. God told him that judgement was coming upon the sons of Samuel’s mentor, Eli. The young Samuel was faithful to relay the information, and God continued to speak to Samuel through the rest of his life.

Daniel (Daniel 2; 4): God placed Daniel in a position of power and influence by allowing him to interpret a foreign ruler’s dream. This is consistent with God’s propensity to use miracles to identify His messengers. Daniel himself had many dreams and visions, mostly related to future kingdoms of the world and the nation of Israel.

  • SUCCESS

In the society although it may be true for most of them that believe that it is your education that makes you successful this simply isn’t true for us, going back to what was discussed earlier when I was discussing the VISION and what Dr Monroe clearly states in an article titled ‘Your gift will make room for you.’ He says:

Somehow we have swallowed the idea that education is the key to success. Our families and societies have reinforced this idea to us, but we will have to change our perspective if we are to be truly successful. Education is not the key to success. Don’t misunderstand me. I believe in education.

However, if education were the key to success, then everyone who has a Ph.D. would be financially secure and happy. If you are intelligent but are not exercising your gift, you’re probably going to be poor. If you’re educated but have not developed your talent, you’re likely going to be depressed, frustrated, and tired. You will hate going to work on Monday mornings. Education, in itself, doesn’t guarantee anything, is your gift that is the key to your success.

I just love how he has broken it down and explained it with so much wisdom it truly is a very insightful point and one that many should take on board. Your education may be a stepping stone for learning new things but it is not the education system that will make you successful.

Many have passed through the education system and doing odd jobs to get by, many are struggling with the accumulated debt they incurred whilst studying, whilst others have put their dreams on hold to try to pay off some of the debt anyway possible. The education system could fail and God will still be able to use you to do much more than you planned to do with the education you have. He doesn’t limit your growth based on how much education you have, because if that were the case many won’t be even near successful or financially stable.

But that is not to say you shouldn’t take education seriously, just don’t make it your main focus in thinking that alone is what will take you to the top.

  • WHAT IS WITHIN YOU

The second part of Proverbs 18:16 says, “…brings him before great men”

The gift within you is powerful indeed and much anointed to take you further than you thought you could go by your own might. You are loaded, blessed and highly favoured. The fact that someone is book smart doesn’t mean they possess the wisdom and, common sense and maturity to grasp all that happens. People will not make room for you because you are book smart.

But when you step out and exercise your gift, not only will it cause great people to come to you, your gift will make room for you and you will be highly blessed for using it.
‘Anyone – yourself included – who discovers his or her gift and develops it will become a commodity.’

Do not listen to what people who are education driven tell you what to do or their ways of how to make money. Anyone can make money but not many people can use it to their advantage to invest in it for the future, they just think of the here and now not the future. There is a big difference between making money the world’s way and doing what God has called you to do, what you know you were born to do. Like I said earlier on, the kingdom is big enough for us all to discover, use and manifest our gifts for His glory.

Your gift to you is a gift to many others, it will be a gift that you can use to help others, it is not a gift for you to use for yourself alone. ‘When God bestows upon one man capabilities and endowments far above the common order, He does not intend to bless that man alone by the gift, but He holds him responsible for the use of the power put into his hand—He expects him so to employ his talents that his fellow-men also may be blessed by the gift’

Look at Joseph, His advancement was not just for Him alone but to bring a blessing to the Egyptian nation, and to further God’s purposes concerning his own family.

  • YOUR ACTIONS AND THOUGHTS

Your vision and your thoughts will take your far, and the intention behind it is what births the greatness. Never think your actions are too small and always persevere as you go on, God will never fail you nor forsake you. When you are called and your actions align with what God says you will surely succeed, you will do things whole heartedly and you will be happy doing it, it will not be a burden to you.

You will be remembered as that woman or man from God who did great things, never gave up and had a deep passion to see others doing good and what they were called to do, not what men said they should do. You have to remember that there is power in your thoughts and actions:

Isaiah 55:8-9 ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’

Galatians 5:22-23 ‘Indeed, the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control’

Colossians 4:5 ‘Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.’

Matthew 5:9 ‘blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.’

NEVER GIVE UP AND I PRAY THAT YOU FULFIL ALL THAT YOU ARE CALLED TO DO. SEE YOURSELF NO LESS THAN WHO YOU ARE AND HOW GOD SEES YOU.

GOD BLESS YOU
