YOUR CHARACTER – PART 1
Thank you for the gift of life, wisdom, growth, the pain we endure to refine us equip us teach us and elevate us. My prayer is that as your children we continue to walk in love, unity, boldness, humility and sensitivity in spirit. Halleluyah
First of all just take a minute to thank God for all that He is doing in our lives.
Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
OUR CHARACTER – OUR MIND – OUR BODY – OUR SOUL.
I want to share this word that’s been revealed to me in many ways over the last two weeks on CHARACTER. It was painful and I was stripped down to the core to change and learn to be even more sensitive in spirit, in different ways to really delve deeper to my own character that could potentially block future blessings along with how I am with people. I am the sort of person who will feel no way cutting people off after disagreements and anger would get the better of me and I would find it hard to let people in to help me, advise me etc. But God is working on it and I am doing my part too and know change is coming soon.
No matter how many times a person may hurt you, disagreements you have and just clashing on what the walk in Christ is really about remember that all these things as annoying or hard to accept all contribute to testing of ones character. You have to see that how people see themselves is not how you see them they may think they are doing great but to you and others they are doing the wrong thing and hurting all those on their path without realising. That’s a character flaw they have to pray over and work on, no matter how mad we may get we have to be sensitive in spirit to connect to them and pray for God to use you to be a blessing in their life. You are not to judge them but to simply pray and help.
At times we need to look at how we respond to such people and let God reveal to us what we ourselves need to develop and work on in our own characters. Many are struggling with character flaws but whether in front of a few or many brush it aside because they feel they have to be “perfect” and nothing less.
Ask yourself these questions:
Do you take correction?
How do you act to correction?
Do you have anger/ pride issues?
How do you act when in uncomfortable situations?
What do you do when you are being tested?
When you serve do you serve walking in humility?
How well do you handle pain?
CHANGE IS THE ONLY THING IN LIFE THAT IS CONSTANT
I define character to be our being everything that makes us who we are, whether it be our attitude, mind-set, likes, dislikes etc and with that said lets take a look at Galatians 5:22-23 ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.’
Walking in Christ means to walk with these characteristics in us, characteristics that are traceable to God and not man. The fruits of the spirit are to grow in us daily, as we know Him, learn from Him, imitate Him and learn from the lessons in our walk. To walk with these characteristics we ought to be a representation of the word aligned with it to be able to take correction, do the work in the kingdom and produce fruitful results. When we live with the fruits of the spirit within we become far better people than we were before and our hearts are pure and always ready to receive as well as being a doer in the kingdom.
But that is the problem there are many in the kingdom who say they are Christians but lack the fruits of the spirit. They do not walk in love, have no peace and so have cluttered spirits and closed ears that don’t hear the voice of God. Longsuffering to them is not seen as endurance but punishment from God in their eyes, they aren’t gentle and kind, lack faith because they move in the natural and are shaken by what they see, as opposed to moving in spirit to move in the supernatural to connect with God.
As Christians it is not enough to say that you are a Christian it is not a title to boast about, it is our being how we are, who we are, what we do, it is us surrendering and committing to God alone. Now if you aren’t walking in this God can build you up by speaking a word through people, our thoughts, discernment, fellowship songs or circumstances so long as you are willing to change, hear and receive He will surely intervene and move in all your ways.
One of the things we should avoid doing is hardening our hearts to correction, love, and obedience, as children of God all your ways must be submitted to Him, we cant grow to reach our best if we are clinging onto things and ways God is trying to save us from.
When you speak a word regarding your circumstance it brings you in line with God, to be positioned in all that you do to grow and help build the kingdom, when you surrender you are allowing your character to be moulded the manifestation of the word will move in your life and God will never abandon you. This is being sensitive in spirit, you have to understand that you are you, unique from everyone else and so you are the best version of you and that requires daily work in you it doesn’t stop and then you are perfect no it’s a gradual process to becoming who God wants you to be and nothing less. Pray to be spiritually mature so that you can have the right attitude to receive all this.
When we want things we are fast to go into prayer and ask God to bless us with our ‘wants’ but yet we are not even ready to receive, have not allowed work on our character and yet believe God to just keep meeting our needs. How you behave in the process brings about opportunities and blessings, so always work as though it is God you are serving no matter who the person is and no matter how long the wait is. Do not make it a habit to complain, act in disobedience or be rude because it is those actions that can delay your blessings.
Act according to the spirit of God, possess a spirit of excellence and embrace what you are blessed with at this current time believing God will increase you.
