Introduction to the stepping out in your calling series..

Hey lovelies

Its been a while since I shared some posts via this blog, but I am back 😀 and have a lot to share with you all so thank you for patience, prayers and love very much appreciated.

I am starting off with a series titled ‘Stepping out in your calling’ this originates from one of the prayer conference calls I had with the ladies (The prayer conference call takes place every Tuesday evening from 8:30pm – 10:00pm) I discussed about positioning in the kingdom to walk in your purpose and called office by God. One of the ladies suggested I put together a series laying out the fundamentals that can help encourage some of you to step out to do the work of God. Many of you want to do the work of God but are fearful and not bold enough to take that leap of faith to step out, it is as though you are unsure of yourself and not positioned to be used by God.

I prayed over this and God downloaded a list of areas I should discuss to help encourage you all, as I once experienced this ‘fear’ of stepping out I can relate to you and pray what I share in this series will indeed help someone get the confidence and push to step out in faith to do what they are called to do in the kingdom. Quite often when speaking to women there is a pattern in what they say, most are those who are in the 9-5 routine and feel they cannot step out due to fear of various reasons such as failure, finances, lack of self confidence, low level of faith, unsure about what they are called to do and how to do it.

But you see when you hear God speak and you know it is Him, and you surrender all to Him there is great fulfilment and passion when your desires match up to what God calls you to do to help build the kingdom. It is no longer the burden of working for a failing system questioning things. I will use myself for example when God first called me I was unsure about myself to go into ministry to help women, for some time fear and doubts crept in and I was sitting on what God had deposited in me. But once I overcame that hurdle all my desires went from the plans I had for myself, to the plans God had for me and I began to walk in purpose with a deep passion to help women I lived ministry and still do, my day to day is all about ministry and other commitments and work all work around that. It says in Psalms 37:4 ‘Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.’ It really is a blessing to us to have the bible the blueprint, our guide, our source to help us understand and apply what is written to live better lives in accordance to what God wants for us.

But God will ensure that once He has called you He alone will elevate you. You shouldn’t be scared or worried to take that leap of faith when it is time or else how can you grow and move in your called office to do the work of God???

Are some of the reasons as to why people always stay in comfort zones, not working on their inner being to grow and progress, their minds are fixed on thinking negatively and to see themselves prospering is unimaginable to them because of all the mind games and lack of prayers. Stuck in a routine with ideas and dreams but always feel it is never the time for them and all those excuses continue to pile up more and more, thinking they aren’t good enough or worthy enough to be called. BUT you see you are worthy, special, gifted and unique and if you cant learn to see yourself how God sees you, you will always stay in one place.

Pray to God for DIRECTION and let Him lead, you are not to act as though you are in control of everything because we need Him in all areas of our lives.

I am excited to share this series with you all and hope it blesses and helps someone..

Also if you have any questions you will like to ask please do feel free to message me and you never know that question may help someone else who can also benefit from it but is not confident enough to speak out.

God bless you all and please do let me know how you get on, either message me on here or via the ministry email empoweredunitedwomen@gmail.com and we can pray together.

God bless you all

  1. Hey Lisa this post is literally ,what I needed this morning as I myself am on a journey of trying to figure out what my God given purpose is.

One question I have for you is can someone have a carrear like a 9-5 job and still be commited to the ministry …or do you think That your God given destiny should be you operating in your purpose full time and forgetting about having a normal carrear ?(lool I hope this makes sense,

Why I say this I because this sept i will be starting a chemistry degree in university which is a subject I enjoy ,but I don’t see how this degree will help my God given purpose …which I think is music > I think. Do you think going to uni is a waste of time, but I love music and chemistry both so why can’t I purse them both. I still have so much to learn about the music industry so sometimes i wonder whether it is truly possible …one thing I fear is that I’m doing this degree but it’s not gonna be related to the job I get in the future!!im so confused these are just my raw thoughts hope I didn’t confuse you too loool.

    • Hey sweetie,

Awwww we thank God for timely words and I am so happy it has been able to help you in some way. I will discuss about hearing from God next and in there I say along the lines of you will not know everything there and then about what God wants you to do in the kingdom, He will download some of the message to you, it is then on you to walk by faith and trust in Him that He who has started this great thing in your life will walk with you to perfect His work.

Now I will use myself as an example, I too was in the 9-5 schedule working monday to friday, although I knew my calling I still worked because I had to earn a living and so that was my mindset until God spoke to my mentor to help me understand that my spirit man was being neglected and all focus on God was being divided between work and Him, He led me to understand that I was putting so much effort into my work and not as much in the ministry my work was distracting me from doing His work, and to be honest with you yes it can be done to some extent but balancing the two can be quite difficult as the 9-5 takes up so much of your time but there is a reason why we are in that 9-5 but not to stay there forever.

Do you know what God did? Because I was working and then bringing that work load home too, thoughts and plans etc He cut down my hours and instead of leaving that place of work He got me to stay there and only work part time that way I could spend more time on ministry and God. See how God works??Before this I realised after my mentors talk that part time work was indeed for me and not long after God did this and blessed me with part time work.

      So what am I saying?
      – Having a full time career is not easy along with ministry, that I know and some others older than us who have stopped working to go into full time ministry (Because remember God will always provide). There will come a time where God may call you out to do His work full time to help build the kingdom. But until then be in the position to receive and hear from Him to not be led astray by what you think He is saying.
It is not that you are forgetting about a career but you have to question your plans and if really it aligns with God’s plan for you and if not drop it. Trust me you are making sense lol don’t worry.

University is never a waste of time, you can always take something valuable away from it but have to be prayerful to ensure that you are studying something worthwhile. However with that said university doesn’t determine your calling, it may help you with learning more, same way your job can equip you with transferable skills, but is not to be relied on in your walk. Reason I say this is because many have been called by God and not all went to college/uni and God still used them, or some went to uni but God did not use them based on what they studied. So it is important to keep in mind that even though there are jobs and unis, that can or cannot contribute to your calling in a big way, but God will always direct and instruct you to be sure of what you are to do.

What you need to do first and foremost is allow God speak to you and work on you to know what your purpose is and how to walk in it if you aren’t doing so already. Do not be fast to move take time to speak to Him and have clarity over it all to avoid confusion and He will speak.

I can advice you but He has the final say on where He wants you to be and how. But above all do not be fearful of your situation sweetie it will be well. The plans we have for ourselves arent necessarily the same plans God will have for us, so where we are trying to match uni and career He is doing otherwise that’s why its crucial to always pray and hear from Him.

Let me leave you with some scriptures to mediate on:
Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

Proverbs 16:9 – A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directs his steps.

John 15:16 – Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Ephesians 1:11 – In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Jeremiah 1: 5 – Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee and before thou camest forth out I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Habakuk 2:2 – And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
